What you are seeing that looks crusty PROBABLY is dried up musk. Use a little bit of mineral oil and a q-tip and see if you can gently wipe it off. This PROBABLY will be a recurring thing unless he gets a mate or is neutered if he is a lone male. I had one male rescue i took in that had been a lone male all of his life and he had the crusty scent gland probably...once we found him a home with a loving female glider...he hasn't had any problems with is since. yes, he happens to be a lone glider........ but seems very happy?should i get him neutered? i heard the scent gland isnt as prominent if you have them neutered....does anyone know how much this costs?..thanks for the info!!
