: Hey, I discovered conditioning perches in the bird departments. They are made of concrete and they are very durable and washable. They do cost some but the trauma of having nails clipped for both glider and parent is minimalized with these perches. My Griz has some very sharp nails but they are a lot less painful and we don't have to go through holding them down to clip them. Glider love and nibbles, Diana Be careful with these perches. They can tear little glider feet. Here is a trick that worked for me - If you have a wodent wheel, line the inside circle with a fine sand paper (fold the edges over the sides and the face. The front and back of the wheel will keep it in place). After one day - check your gliders nails. If they are filed down - remove the paper. If the paper is left in too long it can file the nails down to the nubb. I did this with my little Dottie. The paper was in there for 3 WEEKS. I was cursing that it didn't work. Then, one evening I took the newest baby out to play with. It began crabbing at me and crying for it's mom. Lil Dottie freaked. She got in her wheel and ran and ran and ran. The next morning - her nails were filed and the paper came out. The reason it took three weeks is because Dottie likes to run on the outside of her wheel. Hope this helps. BetsyCC
