You have done a very admirable thing taking in these two gliders. It seems they are already getting more care than they have received in the past. Hats off to you for having the male neutered. As you said, this will solve any future problems.
As for the nectar, mine REALLY enjoy the humming bird nectar, however they only get it about once a week as a treat and then not very much.
Mary has given you some excellent advise.
Keep us posted on their progress .... especially the joey.
