Hi and welcome to the board, : I have heard people talk about how gliders defecate on their owners, are we talking : small easily cleaned up poops or big soft messy, staining poops? One breeder : said that they usual do it within the first half hour of being awakened, their for : large accidents are possible to avoid, correct? Gliders, no matter how well trained or bonded, or going to have accidents on you sometimes. Unless your baby is sick, the poops are kind of like tiny rabbit droppings - they aren't going to stain your clothes or furnishings and can easily be vacuumed up, and their pee (at least Eos's is not smelly or anything. As your glider bonds to you, it will learn not to poop or pee on you, but you'll have to warn OTHER people who want to hold it that it may piddle on them. Also, Eos is pretty much potty trained. I started with her when she was really young (as soon as I got her) and put her on a paper as soon as she woke up and made her stay there til she went. She got the idea pretty fast. She will also come out of the pocket when she needs to go, and she sort of has a little dance she does before she poops, so that helps me know when to get her onto a paper. : I have been told even tame gliders, bite.... is this for no apparent reason or only if provoked? I think a lot of whether they bite depends on the glider's tempermant and how well bonded it is to you, so there is no guarentee. Like all animals, though, if you neglect it or treat it meanly, it will not be as loving. (And I'm sure there are people who are super parents to gliders that still have biting problems.) Eos doesn't bite, but she does give some pretty hard nips when she is hungry or wants attention. Hope that helps...it's just my perspective. Good luck! Tiffany : Thank you for any replies I can't wait to here your opinions.
