Subject: I am thinking of getting a glider

I have been thinking of getting a glider for several months now and making sure that if I do it won't be an impulse choice. I have allot of animals in the house, a dog, hedgehogs, chameleons, small boids, lizards, newts, frogs, fish, turtles, as well as a few typical domestic mammals that I constantly am given under the excuse, "I didn't know my ___ was pregnant so since you like animals so much could you take the babies?" Any ways I have bought books, read web pages and have talked with local breeders. Having so many animals around I have many spare cages, one of which is made for parrots and has close together bares to prevent escape that I believe would be ideal. I can prepare special diets, and have easy access to live food of all sorts. I do still have a few questions which have been answered for me before but I am not sure weather or not I was given a correct response: I have heard people talk about how gliders defecate on their owners, are we talking small easily cleaned up poops or big soft messy, staining poops? One breeder said that they usual do it within the first half hour of being awakened, their for large accidents are possible to avoid, correct? For a first time glider owner with no of breeding (well maybe later one but I'm not worrying about that), females would be a better choice because males supposedly spray more, correct? I have been told even tame gliders, bite.... is this for no apparent reason or only if provoked? Thank you for any replies I can't wait to here your opinions. Drake
