What I responded to is this "because they have no grip". It seems like you overstated your case and that is all. Oh and generally i find my gliders maintain their own nails and if they do get too long I just cut the very tip. after having gliders for three years I can hold the glider and cut without causing too much stress. I would not advise thsi to a novice owner though. Oh and I lose track of the times I have gone to bed with puffed arms from glider scratches and to work with scratches down my face and neck from "face-hugging". I am the person who warns that a glider causing loss of sight from overeager jumping at faces is not impossible. Would you honestly advise people to cut their glider's nails to the point that they have no grip surely you can see why I made the comment I did.
: Roo can still climb!!! I said I ONLY clip the little razor sharp hook at the end. Did I ever say that I clip so that it is bloody? or anything like that? no. I clip off so little just so it is dull. She can still climb, just not as well for a few days. Give me a break. And, the chances are good she would end up in a home that would dump her or euthanize her, but I solved the problem. How do you get ure gliders nails down? Sand paper. Well, i woudl never do that cuz that will irrate her skin and make it bloody. Clipping doesnt hurt them at all.
