I have several friends with female gliders and they seemed to take a while to bond and tend to be a bit on the grumpy side at times. Mine has been nothing but friendly and seems to just love being around me and I've only had him for four days now. The guy who sold him to me also felt that males tend to bond better and be a bit more calm and relaxed on a whole. Regarding the calcium supplement, the store I bought from here in Austin (Herpeton Exotic Pets) sells a supplement mix developed by a breeder and a vet specifically for gliders calle NutriGlider. Its mixed with gatorade and non-fat yogurt (yes, I know about the lactose intolerance claims). Several of the people that work there own gliders and they have a couple that are store pets that are fed this as a main part of their diets and none have had any problems with hind leg paralysis.
