Subject: Fighting with new glider

I have had my male glider for a little over a year now.
I recently bought a baby female to keep him company. She
is really young and every time I let him get near her he
attacks her. I mean really attacks her! I currently have
them in separate cages, but I really want to keep them
together. What can I do to get him to accept her? I am
afraid to let him near her because he might kill her! Their
cages are side by side and not even a foot apart. They have
been this way for over a month, but he still tries to attack
her through her cage when he is out of his cage. Please help
because I really want them to be friends and this is breaking my
heart!!!
