(I tried to post this earlier, but it didn't post, so I'm trying again) First, Honey, YOU ASKED someone's opinion...and they gave it to you. Second, you can NEVER predict how a paniced animal will act no matter how bonded to you you feel they are. Is it worth the risk to lose your animal or have to watch it die a slow death because you wanted to show off? I had a Great Dane once who was so bonded to me, I could walk him without a leash, take him to classes, do children's petting days at the hospital and go anywhere, or so I thought. We had gone to the 4th of July fireworks show 3 years in a row. I took him again the next year. The show started and I didn't have a good hold of his leash (he would NEVER walk, run or otherwise leave my side in public, but it was a law he had to be on a leash, so...he was, but I had a habit of letting it drag the ground or slinging it over my shoulder....) anyway, the fireworks started and he got spooked. He darted into the nearby street and was hit by a car. 3 weeks later and MANY $$$ later (the vet recomended putting him down, however, I wanted him saved) he returned home, better than the vet expected, almost 100% again. But, two years later he died, I still feel it was partly due to that day. Do you REALLY want to chance it? You can NEVER predict how an animal OR a human will react when paniced, that's why swimmers try to drown the saver. It's just not worth it....not at all and I know first hand!!! ~~Jenn BTW ~ I'm not going to tell you if you don't want someone's opinion or experience, don't ask.....
