Baby Sugar Glider conventions: Baby Male = Joey (ie like short for Joseph, a male name) Baby Female = Joy (ie like short for Joyce, a female name) So, the babies are either a Joy or Joey... well, until we name them Unlike some species, like birds, spiders, rabbits, etc. whose sex is hard to determine at an early age - Sugar Gliders, and all marsupials for that matter, can be sexed very early - either an inny (pouch) or outy (testicles), and their baby status (Joy/Joey) can easily be made known. No reason for some ambiguous baby term being used... just sayin' |
