I am just curious of others that have "rescued" sugar gliders. I have 2 that were my son's. He never had time for them, neither did the previous owner. I have had them almost a year now, and they are finally trusting me, and NOT biting anymore. I don't think anyone has ever taken the time to actually bond with them. They were actually anti social when I first started working with them. They hated to be touched or held. I still cannot pick them up unless they are in their pouch, but they will come out and jump on me and eat treats every morning. I think I have made great progress, I am just wondering what else I can do to get them to bond with me? I do have a bonding pouch, and I take them out a few times a week for a few hours. I would love to be able to let them glide around and be adventurous, but I am afraid they will not come back to me. I have had to chase Twitch around the house many, many times in the last year. I think they are around 5 years old. My best guess from all the paperwork that came with them. Any advice would be great! |
