I have bought three yards of fleece. I want to make some stuff for our little 's. The thing is I am not sure how to begin.

Everyone says there is no stitching in theirs.....so what is used instead? I thought about maybe using a hot glue gun to bind the stuff together. But am not sure if that really is a good idea...

I can make the rope like thinks as I know how to braid so those would be a snap.

But then, I would like to make some of the rope like things though that have the all the little pieces sticking out, down the length. Not a very good description. But I hope you get what I mean.

Thanks

Well, I copied down all the information for each one! I have 3 yards of fleece so I should be set to make quite a few of these. Will get some more fleece to make even more to be able to swap out in the cages as well as the tent! It's all so easy. I also noticed the one sleeping pouch that Abby gave me, that will be realy easy to reproduce too!!

Yeeee Haw!! I will be a cage stuff making fool soon!!

Glue is toxic to gliders, so you dont want to use that!

I have made the No Sew Trampoline - and instead of the plastic chain, I made braided fleece ropes. Ive also made it with pony beads instead of the plastic chain. I like the fleece rope the best.

Good for you! I bought several yards of fleece at Christmas time when Joann's had that $2.99/yd sale and my husband is constantly razzing me about it -- because it's ALL still sitting in a box upstairs waiting to become something!

With plastic lace. I think that's what it's called. You can purchase it at Walmart in the same section as the beads. I added some fleece streamers on the top for a little extra cuteness. This does not take very long at all. And I used plastic diving rings that you can also find at Walmart in the swimming pool isle. Get some plastic diving sticks while you are there and you can make them a bridge out of diving sticks - plastic lace and beads. The No Sew Trampoline made with pony beads and lace is on the bottom. The bridge made out of plastic diving sticks, plastic lace and pony beads is on the top.

They are easy to make! The diving stick bridge takes a little longer so plan on an afternoon for that one.

The trampoline made with braided fleece or pony beads & plastic lace doesnt take long at all.

I went to the dollar tree today and bought some things to make some toys. I bought two bags of those balls like plastic baseballs with holes in them. They had them in colors. I'm going to use those to make the toys for hanging straws through the holes or hang pieces of fleece from or even monkeys from.
I went to the party section and found little buckets with handles to make a foraging toy, some plastic toys with holes in them to hang on links and the links you can get just about anywhere. I love getting creative ideas from everyone. I've never tried to make anything so this will be my first attempt but the dollar stores have alot of good stuff.

I use to be a BIG Ms. Susie Homemaker! lol Unfortunately that was when I didn't have a business to run during the week. I use to make Christmas stocking... quilted and embroidered. They were beautiful. There just came a time where I had to say... ABBY YOU HAVE NO MORE ROOM FOR FABRIC BATTING AND EMBROIDERY THREAD!!!! lol My sewing machine was ALWAYS out and it seemed like it was all I did when I was off. SO I sold all my stuff and that was that. ANYWAY... Nancy I am sure you will make some beautiful cage sets!! The no sew stuff is really easy. That last 2 sets I bought were all no sew and I like them better than even the zebra one I bought. That one required sewing. Let me know how it all goes! OH AND I STILL HAVE THESE OTHER PIECES TO SEND TO YOU! lol I will try to send them out Saturday OR Tomorrow.

This is great! I was looking for this type of stuff too. Does anyone have a pattern for pouches (the sewn type) or the front pack (like a back pack, only it's worn on the front) - there is an actual name, but it has escaped me at the moment.

Lowes also sells landware cloth. Its in the gardening section. If they dont have it out, ask for it. They may have some in the back.

I am just wondering - I have two gliders that seem to chew somewhat. They started chewing on the P's sticker on the wheel that I purchased and thats what I really noticed since I was told they would not chew.

So, are the plastic beads and cord safe?

Yea!!!!!!! I found it only it was called Hardware Cloth. I got enough to last a good long while, like 15 Ft of it. Could not find small plastic chain and the key rings with swivel hooks, so will continue looking for those. Our local Michael's is moving to a new locatin and a lot of their merchandise is already at the new place.

If you have gliders that chew, the plastic beads and plastic string may not be safe. The key is to string the beads so none of the plastic lace shows - then they cant get to it.

There are many very reputable glider vendors who use the pony beads and plastic lace for toys.
