Ok I would like opinions and suggestions to make these better!

Hanging with Plastic Chain... Hooked onto box with O rings and held to cage with a Quick Link!

Hole is big enough for a VERY preg. Glider to not catch on babies

Anyone see anything I can do to make it better???

I used a Dremel. BUT Nelson says he is getting me a "Hole" Cutter if I plan on making more than just the ones for here!
I am sometimes a perfectionist! It is a MAJOR Flaw! I promise!!!
Oh and those hands are a 12 & 13 year old! LOL So not THAT big!

Oh wow!!! Thanks!
This is a "Trial" one! I have decided my Hole is not "Round" and I want the next one ROUNDER.
I did also modify the chain... so it actually fits in the corner! I will take a pic of it in the cage tomorrow when my camera is charged!

Well the Dining room did great last night! I think I might add a hole on the side... since it hangs in the corner! Rhi did not like that she had to go out the In door! LOL It was comical!

Does anyone else use kitchens with 1 door???

Who came up with "Kitchen" for the name??? I think I will call mine a dining room... as my gliders dont cook... they just eat!

Mine only has one door.

I don't call mine a "glider kitchen" anymore either. It's definitely a "Mess Hall".

I made a glider kitchen that only has one hole, I used a hole saw, but my hole is no where near as big as yours. Mine also doesn't hang lol. That is a GREAT glider kitchen, and if you decide to malke and sell them. I will defenitley buy a few! Great job!

Awesome Kyro! Thanks! I thought about it, but got soooo excited I washed it and fed! I had to get it in the cage!
Off to the store to make some more!!! I am addicted now!
Also... what do you recommend as to # per cage? I think I am going to do 2 per cage, so IF I dont get to wash it each day, I have a clean one still waiting!

Ok... I have had a few requests...
So my question is...
What have YOU paid for a Kitchen???

IF I decide to make these... What about an option for Hanging or bottom cage?
2 sizes??? I found a nice box that was 12.7qt... mine is smaller than that one, but I could get some and do those too...

I'm not sure what size mine is, but I think it's like a medium size shoe box. I think I paid about $2 for mine LOL but that's because we made it ourselves. I know others do sell them but I honestly don't know what they've charged. Mine also doesn't hang. I'd be afraid of them swinging it when 6 of them pounce on the kitchen at once.

LOL We fixed the swinging! Grrr... I am waiting on my daughter - when she gets home, I will get my camera back and take photos so you can see!

The objective I have on hanging them is to make it so the food is HIGH! I heard that they prefer it that way!

I have their kitchen sitting on a high shelf in the cage (The Exels have them and they're adjustable but the Bird.com cages do not-or at least they didn't-so that might be good for those cages) but I think you're right about that.

I like to feed mine high too, and I'm nervous about the swinging for the same reason as Kyro. My five would send it into the upper atmosphere! My hubby made ours with a cheapo plastic shoe box (about $2) and used a hole saw for the opening which is about 3"(?)

I think since we are about to have 4 in one cage I like the idea of having 2 doors. I like the size hole on that one you showed us last night. Also it might swing less if instead of having the chains all meet in the center... you have them attach at the top of the cage individually. You know.. like my ark has 4 different straps attaching it to the cage? Am I explaining this good?? lol

I was thinking on making an Ancor... That would hook to the side to prevent swinging...

Any thoughts???

I got my box at Walmart... for $2.50 - The latch on this one is AWESOME...They have bigger sizes.

I found some online for $6 - these are standard bottom of the cage ones.

Nelson is getting me a Hole Saw for making more! Woooo Hooo!

Now he also is thinking about making it so you could sit it on the top of the cage and have a tunnel! OMG You guys are getting him into MY world! His job is the cars!!!!

add up what your initial supplies cost to make 1 kitchen add a little to it for a decent profit .... I dunno what modest is for this..lol I don't know how much work goes into it.... I will tell you shipping and all I paid $14.00 with $10 shipping... so $24 total... that is how much I got back recently in my paypal claim

I've heard the general rule for other non glider products would be the cost of the supplies to make it and then double that cost for your profit. However, if it only costs 3 dollars to make, 6 dollars I think would be to cheap. I'm not saying it only takes 3 dollars to make it, I just threw that number out there. I would say AT LEAST $10 and maybe $15 at the most. Then again, yours in the nicest one I've seen so you never know, people might be willing to pay more because of that too. I'd say charge what you think makes it worth it for you to make them and go by that. Everybody wants to find a great deal but what matters is whether its worth your time to even sell them. You know people are liking them alot. I say go for it!
