Does anyone have pictures of it?

You can see a boys chest scent gland. It kinda gives the fur a slight yellow tint between the front 2 legs. This is one of my boys Odie, its not a great pic but you can see his scent gland.

Good grief! I've been trying to get the boys white on their chest and the yellow is actually a scent gland!? So much for that then.

If it's the area where their glad is then it probably won't be completely white. When neutered, it somewhat goes away, but the staining remains.

If they don't clean it themselves within a few days you can help them by cleaning it with a warm damp cloth. Neutering them will take care of that problem as well. Will also cut down on their smell big time.

It really shouldnt be crusted. Like someone said, take a warm, very damp cloth and clean the area. Then watch to see what happens in the next few days. If it becomes crusted again, a vet visit might be in order to make sure every thing is ok.

I agree with Rita, the scent glands should not be crusted. When I rescued Odie, his head scent gland was really crusted and gross. I brought him to my vet and as it turned out it was infected and he gave me some cream to clear it up. I also had to make sure to clean the area with a warm damp cloth a few times a day. After about a week, it cleared up and he hasn't had any problems since. He was also neutered after the infection cleared up, so that's why his scent gland in my pic above is not as prominent, forgot to mention that, sorry.

The boys look like Torilynns boy. I've been afraid that since their underbellies weren't white, that their diet was bad.

When Diego was sick, I used a Q-tip dipped in warm water to clean his gland. It was easier for him, because he would eat a treat while I worked on him.

I did clean them with a qtip. Seems better for now, I will see if it comes back. Now its just a skin spot.

Most other boys I have dealt with had a yellow line, not a bare spot, so I was a bit confused LOL
