I hate to ask for photo's and not post one (sorry), I'll have to take some pictures tomorrow in the day light (no flash on my phone camera).

I love to see you guys' cages. It gives me ideas as to how to rearrange my babies cage. Thought it would be a good thread.

I bought a 5 level ferret cage and took out a few levels to leave more running and jumping room on one side. I felt the need for a larger cage because I wanted to have big "climb on and in" toys that wouldn't fit along with their kitchen in the old one.

Oh Kyro - LOVE those cages!!! And I'm interested in those blue hanging mesh looking things there - it looks like something the gliders would like to leap on!

I think that was from IKEA but I've seen them other places as well. Ebay had them. They're less than $10 if I remember correctly.

Oh, their little bucket of plastic eggs! And I love the kitchens on the shelves - I've been trying to figure out just how I can fix mine to a shelf as well. Mine gliders have a "thing" about bunji(sp) cords.
Do they open the eggs? I bought some and they haven't figure out how to open them.

Thanks! My kitchen are sitting on the shelf with a wooden perch blocking them from falling off. It is too hard for my girls to open the big eggs but I bought mini eggs for them and I close them partially. It is still hard for them but instead of it being impossible it is just challenging.

I have 3 colonies so 3 cages. Each cage has 2 side mounted stealth wheels and 3-4 sections of ferret tunnels hung from the top of the cage. The other toys etc are rotated now and then from cage to cage on toy cleaning day.

I have 5 gliders in two of the cages and 4 in the middle one. They have plenty of room to jump and play because the cage is 22 inchs deep, a little deeper than most cages that are 18 or 20 inches deep.

Hey suggies! I'm posting my suggie habitat (I hate calling it a cage- a cage implies being forcefully locked up and my guys love their habitat!)

I keep a white fitted sheet over the back of the cage to block out excess light and draft but to keep them from throwing food on my walls. At night they get a black sheet over the front for privacy from cats.

Thanks for starting this thread hypno...I loved my cage in the beginning. Attractive, powder coated, plenty of room, but I am so disappointed now & upset with myself for not realizing it just isn't practical for my needs. I paid almost $400 for it 2 months ago and am so frustrated that I am probably going to have to break down & get a different one. It has 2 somewhat usable doors but they are only 8.5 X 10 so it's a pain to get anything of size in & out LIKE MY 12 in. WODENT WHEEL! And both doors are placed on the same panel, one above the other & the cage is so wide that I literally cannot reach in and reach the other side to hang things like fleece bridges from one end of the cage to the other, it's actually a 2 person job which again is a pain!

So if I may ask those of you that posted wonderful pics of your cages,...where did you get them? They are what I am now in the market for.

posting a pic of my cage just for reference, not as a "hey get this cage" kind of thing. Thanks Bunches!

Hey Jazz, glad you commented on your cage. Mine is like the ones everyone's posting. Like Candy's it's 22 inches deep too. And I got that because I wanted them to have plenty of room and couldn't afford what I really wanted - one like you pictured there. (Of course, at only 5'2" myself, I can't hang anything from the top of the cage without help from a tall person, or moving the cage to the floor. But I've grown use to needing help or getting inventive!)

Also - I am so careful to leave a open "runway" that goes all around the cage (top, front/back, bottom) thinking that they need "gliding" room or "running" room. But you guys all have lots of goodies in the cages. Maybe they don't need the "clear runway" after all? I have lots of stuff to put in, but rotate it because it don't all fit at once while leaving the "open space".

Yeah, 5'2" here also! My arms just aren't long enough to reach the other side! And some things I forgot to mention is there is nothing at the top to attach anything to...hence the REAL NEED to have to string something from end to end to be able to hang anything from! And while the design is attractive and looks nice in my living room, the shape does not allow for all the cute corner hammocks, ect. to be used, and the top is so large that it makes it impossible to fit through any door way, so while it has wheels, I can't wheel it out the door for a good cleaning without dis-assembling it!

Jazz, I know many vendor's will make custom sets. I recently saw someone order a cage set from Tootles that has the hex cage. They just gave her the measurements for the corners. I am leaning towards this cage lately. It is just so pretty! I never take my wheel out anyways. Just clean it in the cage. I am 5'10 so not an issue for me. I have a corner it will look perfect in. Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get it is?

I got mine at SunCoast...it's $362 It definately is a beautiful cage, it's just too hard for me to even clean at the widest part because I just can't reach. I wish they would have put a little bit of extra thought into the door placement. Having the two main, large doors on the same panel just doesn't make much sense. In my photo, the pouch is actually hanging on the inside of the bottom door & is just about the size of the door itself. The panel to the left has 2 smaller doors, (4.5 X 5) and not sure why, but according to directions, these 2 panels need to be side by side. While the smaller doors are pretty much useless, they may have come in somewhat handy if they could be placed toward the back of the cage, maybe opposite the larger doors. And as you can see from the photo, I have a Wodent wheel that is bigger than the doors & I am just now realizing the wheel is what was stinking so it's gonna need to be at least wiped out every other day, & again, I have to awkwardly reach in to do that & in order to really clean it, I have to take it apart inside the cage. That's a real pain! With you having a longer reach it may work better for you.

I have a stealth wheel and it doesn't contain the waste like the wodents do. Most drops through. I also have french doors off my kitchen that lead to the back door so I could still power wash it easy enough. I do wish the doors were MUCH bigger and there was something up top to hang things from. It seems like with every cage you have to decide what you can live with and what you can't. I use a glider kitchen and wondering if it will fit now. hmmmm. That is important as it makes my cleaning job MUCH easier! Wish I knew someone with skills to modify with a bigger door.

No problem! Know there were a few vendors who sell them for rather inexpensive- I searched the webwebs all over for a decent deal and the seller was clearing out stock- so I was able to get mine for little over $150. I don't know if they still have any left at the moment.
