What is this ball pit I keep reading about? Just a container with balls? Fuzzies seem to like it a lot? Debating making one! What are the best kind of balls inside? Like little pom poms?

pompoms, fleece scraps, tiny golf wiffle balls, ping pong balls, fleece poms, there's a variety of small things you can put in there it just depends on what your gliders are interested in. =)

Well it's a big hit with mine. Though I had to bring it up from the floor and hang it at the top they refuse to play with anything on the floor (minus the wheel and a giraffe kinda toy).

You'll have to adjust accordingly with your gliders. Depending on what they like or don't like. If they're chewers, etc. One of mine can't be left alone with pompoms they shred them to pieces and while I haven't seen them try and eat it I'm worried they would while I sleep. So because one shreds the rest can't have any without supervision. So mine is a mix of barrel of monkeys, fleece scraps, "mini porcupine balls" (if anyone remembers what those are), easter eggs, mini treasure chests, and fleece poms.

How do you clean the balls? Just toss them and get new ones?

Some people do. I wash mine. They lose some of the "fluff" but at least they're clean. I started with hand washing them in the sink but that was a pain so I took a chance & threw them into the regular laundry...washer AND dryer...it works well. Someone posted just a few days ago, I think it was titled something like "what do you do with your scraps" and the author posted pics of some cute fleece balls she makes with the scrap fleece...she basically takes about 3 or 4 approx. 2 in. scraps and stacks them, she said she uses 2 stacks ties them in the middle and fluffs them. They were really cute. I'm gonna try it & if I can get it to work I'm gonna chuck the pompoms!

We use plastic easter eggs and pom-pom balls. Obviously they like them, you can see two butts on the surface. I think they are digging for yogies.

You don't have to be. Seriously, you'll probably surprise yourself. Most things are fairly simple and when you do them it's like "Hey! I did that!" And remember, it doesn't have to be perfect, your babies won't mind.

And WalMart sells fleece pretty cheap. I just paid less than $3 a yd this past weekend.

I also tie small pieces of fleece into knots, and I also put in bottle caps from my soda/water bottles and milk jugs. They love that as well!

I got bat rings from Wally world in the Halloween section for their pit as well!!

My boys weren't interested in an open air ball pit, but I took a plastic container that I'd bought with fruit in it from the grocery store, cut a small hole in the top, and now we can't keep them out of it. They sleep in there, sometimes together! Mine are only interested in pom poms though, the wiffle balls seem to be a nuisance to them.

Here's both of them hugging in the ball pit.
