I've done my months and months of research [approximately a year to be exact], I have been saving up the money to be able to buy all the essentials, and while doing so never stopped researching. I even talked to some experienced Glider owners in the chat, and have decided upon my diet choice [HPW - Not the instant crap], where I will purchase the formula, I have costed the price of the fruits and veggies, and where I will be purchasing them, I have found a vet that is available in any case of emergencies and actually lives just up the road, as well as found out all things that are good and bad for these little guys. I already have a tent for bonding/outside of the cage time, and know where I'm purchasing my fleece/toys and cage. Now all I need is to find a breeder! I have found two breeders in my area: mysweetgliders.com and toandfrogliders.com but I have heard some... Unpleasant things about To and Fro, and am having no response from the first breeder. I live in Tulsa, and I don't like the idea of having these babies shipped. I'm interested in buying twins, gender is of no preference. I am looking for Pet-only, and I was hoping to purchase a basic grey and WF. If anyone knows of breeders in the area, and have experience with them, please inform me! I've searched the internet and am coming up short, which is quite saddening... Thank You For Your Time. [:

I am posting this in Joeys,Birth,Parenthood and Questions.

You are awfully close to both of the biggest sugar glider rescues in the US. I know that Val of Kingdom Kritters visits Tulsa regularly. http://kingdomkritters.webs.com/

Also Lucky Glider Rescue and Sanctuary is very close to you. http://luckyglider.org/

Since Val visits that area frequently I bet she knows of breeders also if neither of the rescues have any matches for you.

@viciousencounters Thank you for the links, I never really considered adopting from a rescue, though it actually does sound like a pretty good idea, not to mention taking in some babies who need it more than babies from a breeder.

@renee14150 I wasn't sure, so I posted it on both for good measure. x3
And I have! I'm set, ready, and very excited. [: [By the way! Being my quirky self, who loves little number facts, this was your 1111 post! xD]

lol - i never pay attention to the number - that cracked me up tho!!
You really should consider a rescue - you don't HAVE to get joeys - you can bond just the same with a glider of any age:)
Let us know how you make out!!

I agree...rescuing gliders is so rewarding, and not to mention cheaper than buying from a breeder. There are soooo many gliders that need rescued. As vicious stated, I believe Val travels to Tulsa regularly (believe she is based in Amarillo) and Ed at Lucky Gliders has many many wonderful gliders just waiting for a loving home. Please consider rescuing...believe me it is worth it!

I would certainly agree that you should consider rescues. :)

I am Val of Kingdom Kritters rescue and I would certainly be willing to talk with you. I have many great, hand tame gliders who need forever homes. I also have some that need a bit more work. In any case, they all need forever, loving homes.

I travel to Tulsa about once every 6-8 weeks because one of the very best vets in the country for sugar gliders is there. Perhaps he is the vet that you have chosen?

You are also very fortunate because the 2012 SUGAR Group RRRoundup will be in Tulsa this March. What a great time to meet some glider owners and to learn more about these little ones. Keep your eyes on the threads about the RRRoundup here and on TSS. It is going to be a good one!

If you want to consider some rescues, then please contact me via email at pickardsgal@yahoo.com and request my application. We can go from there.

If I was in the market I would only rescue. The rescuers are so modest too they do have WFB's frequently, I am sure you would be able to find a match.
