So iv searched the posts for info on ball pits. They were all older posts and people said different things about what to use. Im really wanting to make one for my little Sookie but want to know whats best/safe to use and what others are using currently.

Im in town now so as soon as I get some responses ill swing by a store and pick some stuff up and hopefully Sookie will have something new to explore when she wakes up tonight.im already excited!

Here is the perfect tutorial on ball pits.

Because you are out and about now, I'll name some items suggested so you can pick them up.

Wiffle balls, golf balls, ball pit balls.

Easter eggs, all sizes.

Toys s/a: rubber duckies, rubber animals, plastic army men, plastic dinosaurs, plastic animals, plastic boats, plastic airplanes, large plastic jacks, treasure chests, and the like (check for decent quality, not rough edges).

Plastic bracelets & rings.

Good quality and medium to large size pom poms, (avoid tiny & small ones, and pom poms that fall apart easily).

Shop in party, pet, and children's toy sections of stores, party supply stores, craft stores, and my personal favorite, the Dollar stores, especially Dollar Tree.

I have several ball pits....

One is full of Dollar Store Dinosaurs & Army men....I've added simple bottle caps. Save the tops off of your milk cartons, water, soda bottles. I also cut the rings off the milk cartons and toss 'em in....if you do this make sure to snip them so they don't get them stuck on their necks...but they love to toss 'em around the cage. I put a few drops of honey or agave nector in a few caps and let them forage.

I have one full of various plastic balls...(pictured) the large green/yellow I got from WalMart. They work great for holding treats (I put several mealies in the solid part & the babies go crazy digging them out)

I have another that is full of fleece strips & scraps....

All of the things mentioned are great for ball pits. But you don't even have to have 'ball pits'...you can just have toy bins for your gliders too and stock them full of plastic chew items.
I use plastic storage bins and hang them up high like this:

I also use floor toy bins...AKA heavy veggie trays like this:

My gliders love having toy bins like these at both levels of the cage.

Thank you. If you are talking about the one that the glider is IN...that is a coconut toy from Jen. You can order them from her by emailing her at jen102375@aol.com. You can also look up her Facebook fan page under The Glider Boutique. ;)
