I JUST finished the PVC cage for the gliders I am getting today. I hope they love their new home. It may look flimsy, but it is sturdy - I have stood inside and pushed against it. I cannot fit my thumb through anywhere in the cage (including the door frame). I started the left "door" as a door and then realized I did not have enough locks for it! Lol! So I just decided to zip it down till I could acquire another (since I needed a break). However, the right door has a door/window inside of it. There are two locks on the "mini-door" and three locks on the big door. There is a shelf (held by zip ties on the three sides touching the walls). There are flip down legs on all sides (not the corners as I did not have four way connectors, but the actual front, back, and sides). This was based off of Eric's PVC cage (can be found here: http://www.sugarglider.com/journal/AUtigers350z/How_To_Sugar_Glider_PVC_Cage_602.asp ) with a few modifications. And since you've obviously been waiting for them here are a few pictures:

LOL! I thought I posted on here, must of just hit enter and forgot to click post button.

Anyway, I think the cage looks great! Very large, I'm curious on dimensions. Also I believe the left side door is large enough to permit access to entire cage, so don't really think you need a right side door, but I'd keep the frame in any way, looks supportive and gives another climbing surface for the gliders. I also love the little door in the big door.

Congrats on getting your gliders today, you must be so excited! I can't wait till you post the photos of them and their cage all set up.

Ok, I'm hitting the "post" button now.

Looks great! We used the same layout for ours with some changes too since we couldn't get certain PVC fittings. We also used a larger PVC pipe. The doors were so tricky!! You'll be fine until you the the other locks. But it will be good to make the other door easy to open. I find it makes cleaning a little easier. Your babies are going to love it!!!

Thanks you guys! I completely forgot about the dimensions! It is 61 inches tall, 28 inches deep, and 34 inches across the front. The legs add 5 inches when flipped out. The door frames are about 15 inches across (the doors are 13.5 inches across) and 36 tall (the doors are about 34.5 inches tall). The mini door is 12.5 by 10.25. The shelf was made from some "scrap" gardener's mesh. I made sure that it was the smooth natural edge facing out. And on a side note - I lost count of how many zip ties after 850. TJones09, the outside of the right door is exactly the same as the left. It will provide the same access if only one side is to be open. However, I'm hoping to get that one open soon!

Great job, I really like the little door you put in. I gotta ask tho, how sturdy is it with the legs like that and without the center bracing shelf? I used those same plans on mine and when my trio goes into monkey mode and starts jumping all over the place it seems to move alot.

I love these dimetions though, its about the maximum possible size that can still fit through a doorway. And mines so light that when it comes time to was every week I just throw it into the back of the truck and take it to the car wash.

Just a little heads up though Lowes does sell appliance trays that are the exact size for the cage.

Heres a pic of mine.

It is VERY stable. I got inside and shook it, then put the legs down and pushed it from the outside. It is good. I saw the appliance tray, but I'm just going to put a towel down covered with puppy pee pads. I like the center lining on the one you made. Oh, also the shelf is stable because I have it at a 35-40 degree angle and the cage does fine without the extra PVC.
