Oh Cathrine where were you 13 years ago! LOL I could have used that tip!

On the Preemie clothes... they are more costly... BUT my sister swears by the Gerber Jammies that Roll up. She said she never needed little preemie ones but she THINKS they have them! They are great cause as they grow, then they sorta turn into that in between size!

Both Harry and Rosie seem to be monitoring their body temperature fairly well. If they keep this up for a couple of days, they can go into a regular crib instead of incubators.

Harry is no longer on oxygen and totally breathing on his own. He is also taking breast milk (by tube feeding) with no problems.

Rosie sometimes "forgets" to breathe so she is still on oxygen and all monitors. This is due to the part of her brain that controls automatic reflexes not being fully developed. She is also regurgitating her breast milk. Her skin is really dry so they have her all greased up with a Vaseline type ointment. Poor baby.

Jim and Jess started skin to skin therapy today with both babies. Lots of skin-to-skin holding, which is a medically-proven therapy for preemies. It helps them mature faster and acclimate better to being outside of the womb at such an early age.

Here is a picture of Jim & Harry doing "skin-to-skin therapy"

And a picture of Jess & Harry doing "skin-to-skin therapy"

The lighting by Rosie's bed is not very good, so they had problems getting
pictures of her today. We are hoping tomorrow will be better - or we will just have to ask them to move her for a few minutes!

I am so glad to read that things are going well.....Jess looks great..I took had C/S deliveries and looked like a truck ran me over for awhile.....Jim is just beaming....both of them could do a Crest commercial with those smiles.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day...what a gift to see and hold your two grandbabies. Until a person is a grandparent they can not understand that special love....a person can not explain it.....

Prayers and good thoughts are heading your way....

Happy Mothers Day!

Thank you, Eric!!!

I did have a Happy Mother's Day. I got to hold my grandbabies for the first time today!!! Alan, my Mom, my oldest son, Doug and I met Jim and Jess at the hospital and spent about 3 hours with the babies. We took a break and went to the Ronald McDonald Room to sit and visit for awhile. Jim and Jess are both so much calmer and relaxed now that they know their babies are going to be ok.

Harry had clothes on today!!! They had him in a preemie nightgown and it was WAY to big for him!!! The sleeves were rolled up about 4 times.

Rosie is still on oxygen, still forgetting to breathe, still having trouble keeping her breast milk down and not doing as well controlling her body temperature.

Both babies were awake today for quite awhile. It was so cute seeing them with eyes open.

Jim tried to tell me how to hold them. I asked if he thought I had never held a baby before - and how in the world did he get to be 30 having me as a mother! He got the point.

Anyway, we had a really great day. Both Alan and my son Doug got very emotional with this being the first time they were able to see Harry and Rosie. Neither had seen babies so tiny.

I didnt take pictures today as I had my hands full. But Jim did and he is supposed to e-mail them to me. It probably wont be tonight..

I hope all of you Mom's out there had as wonderful a Mother's Day.

RITA! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY SWEETIE!! I know this one was an especially special to you. Let me first say how completely BEAUTIFUL the pics of lil miracle Harry are!! (that is what I call them when I show their pics to my husband and kids.. lil miracle Rosie and lil miracle Harry)

My oldest daughter is 32 weeks. She stares at Harry and Rosie's pics with amazement. Then she begs me to stay with her the first week she is home after Camryn is born.. AND I LOVE IT!! lol I never thought she would feel like she needs me again..lol Her fiance is so good at taking care of EVERYTHING! lol Christian has always been so good with babies. Today she said.. MOM this baby will need MORE than just baby sitting..lol She said... There are lots of things I NEVER had to do..lol I just giggled. She has always and I DO MEAN ALWAYS been so independent. I CAN DO IT BY MYSELF MOMMY was one of her favorite terms when she was just a year old. lol Rita... my baby is having a baby!!! It's hitting me like a ton of bricks today..lol

We got GREAT news today!!! Harry and Rosie are both off of oxygen!!! And Rosie has been keeping her milk down for the last 2 days!!!

Here are my babies from this afternoon! Look at the difference!!!

Jess holding Harry - handsome sleeping little boy.

Rosie in a Preemie Onesie. Look how big those socks are on her! They tucked the onesie under her so it wouldnt look so baggy.

Before you know it they will be packing up those socks, because the babies had outgrown them! I think it would be neat and I have done this for my babies, (both small at birth)I kept one of each of their premmie outfits so I can show them how little they use to be. Premmie clothes fit my daughter when she was born. When my son was born we had to roll up the sleeves they also were too big for him.So glad they are off oxygn and holding down milk.
