That is so wonderful! I'm so glad to hear things are going well! Tell Jess to get as much rest as possible and don't stress! (I know easier said than done!) When I was nursing my two kids it made a huge difference when I was rested, I didn't produce much at all when tired. And some is better than none, even if she can't keep up. A whole generation of people grew up on formula because breast milk was thought to not be as good and they turned out ok (Well, in some people that's debateable ) Even if she has to supplement they will still get the antibodies from what milk she can supply them. I'm so happy for all of you guys that everything is going well.

Rita they are both gorgeous.

Here is an article on Fenugreek: www.kellymom.com/herbal/milksupply/fenugreek.html

She also needs to make sure she drinks a lot of water and as I said before oatmeal helps.

Pumping is also a lot harder than actually breastfeeding. Sometimes when pumping milk won't come out because you can't get the let down, but when the baby is latched on the let down will happen. They say when pumping to think about your baby or look at a picture of your baby, or have something by you that smells like baby to trigger the let down.

She might also want to talk to a lactation consultant for advice if she needs it, most hospitals have them. They should be able to give her some support.

Thank you, Catherine!!! Im going up there this afternoon so I will be sure to let Jess know.

She is going to take an additional 3 months off when the babies are released from the hospital and wants to breastfeed during that time and will stop when she goes back to work.

How is your beautiful little girl? She must be getting so big already!

I just got home from visiting with my grandbabies. And....BOTH of them are in regular cribs now!!!!

Jim and Jess were giving Rosie a sponge bath when Alan and I got there and she did NOT like it at all!!! Ive heard her whimper before but not cry out loud like she did!!! Ive never heard Harry cry altho Jim and Jess said he does.

So....we have more progress!!! Still not word about when they will come home as they still cant do the sucking/swallowing/breathing thing yet. They have little preemie pacifiers so they can practice.

My camera battery was dead tonight - so Jim took some pictures. I asked him to send them to me so I can post the most recent ones.

Yay im glad they are both in big baby beds!!!

Wasnt that a gentleman of Harry to let his sissy have a crib first!!

I am so glad they are doing so well. One bonus to this and Jess and Jim get lots of help in order to prepare for the babies to be home. Gives them lots of practice!!!

Thank you! He had the nerve to ask me if I had ever changed a diaper before!!!! Do you believe that!

I ask him everyday how in the world he got to be the ripe old age of 30 with a mother like me!!!

Maddy is doing great. Not so little anymore. She was 16lb 7 oz last Monday when she went to the docs for her 4 month vaccinations.

I'll try and upload some new pics to my photobucket later and post a link. I'm sitting here with Maddy on one knee holding her with one hand and typing and printing out shipping labels with the other. Trying to train her early to help Mommy but all she wants to do is stick all the paper in her mouth or scrunch it up!

Jess is starting to feel better. She still gets tired pretty quickly, but its only been 3 weeks since her c-section. Her Dr said he may allow her to drive next week - so that will allow her the freedom to go to the hospital when she wants to - and to go home and rest when she needs to.

There is still no time frame for them to go home...

Thank you for asking!

Wow, they are getting so much bigger. It's amazing how fast they grow, I remember the picture with the ring on one of their wrists. Bless the good lord above. I will continue to pray, as I know he hears us. Thank you Rita for sharing such an amazing story. Your Grandbabies are very beautiful!

I am glad she is starting to get better, I know between the c-section, all the meds and procedures prior, plus just general recover from giving birth and all the hormones she had a lot to deal with. I am glad she is taking care of herself. I know my sister had a set-back this past birth because she kept going.

I read somewhere when i was resarching premature births that they typically go home on or around their scheduled due date.

Hopefully that isnt the case because they would still have 10 more weeks

We have no idea when Harry and Rosie will come home. They will be one month old on Monday and have been in NICU for 4 weeks. They dont have the sucking/breathing/swallowing thing down yet and havent been started on a bottle. Hopefully - they will be able to coordinate it all soon.
