LGRS Open House / Meetup Sat. Oct 15th 2011 2011 October 15WHAT:
We are pleased to announce another open house at Lucky Glider Rescue & Sanctuary. LGRS is a non-profit rescue and sanctuary operating in Northern Texas. Our specialty is sugar gliders. We have over 80 animals in rescue, most of which are healthy, friendly, and adoptable.

WHY:
1. Community Outreach and Education for Sugar Gliders 2. Adoption appeal for animals in rescue 3. Fun and Gossip 4. Friendship
HOW:
Buy car, truck, foot, tractor, UTV or helicopter.
ACTIVITIES:
1. Eating. There will be snacks and drinks available. You can bring deserts if you want.
2. Vendors. There may be a few vendors available to answer questions about products. Not all of the details are worked out yet.
3. Rescue Tour. We will be giving visitors tours of the suggie rescue room.
4. Nail trimming demonstration. Ed will show how to cut nails and will trim your gliders' nails if you bring them.
5. Feed donkeys, goats, sheep, llama. There are other animals here besides the sugar gliders you can see.
6. Children. Volunteers may bring supplies for kids to make toys, draw pictures, etc. of and for the gliders.

DIRECTIONS:
From North / Sherman
1. Take US-75 South (9.4 mi)
2. Exit onto Blythe Rd and take Access Rd South (2 mi.)
3. Turn right onto Bear Rd.
322 Bear Rd is second house on left.

From South / Dallas Area
1. Take US-75 North (43 mi)
2. Take Van Alstyne exit 51 (Van Alstyne Parkway / Stephens St / TX-121)
3. Continue North on Access road to traffic light (0.6 mi.) (see gas station on right at corner)
4. Turn left onto Van Alstyne Parkway / Stephens St / TX-121 and go underneath the highway to the stop light. (see McDonalds on left)
5. Take a right at this light onto the W Access Rd/Central Expy heading North (1.8 mi.) (you must yield to traffic coming off 75 headed South)
