I am in Colorado Springs.

Last July I had a bad accident. Recovery is ongoing. I still have metal in my body and more surgery on the horizon.

I am the COO for a nutraceutical company.

I founded a pet and home care company three years ago and handed it over to my husband, who has run it pretty much by himself (with my help when I am able). It has grown so quickly we will soon need to hire subcontractors.

I have four children. The oldest is married with children of her own. The second oldest lives at home and begins his third year of college this fall. The third and fourth children are boy/girl twins who begin their senior year of high school this fall.

All of my helpers are too busy to help me with the Sugar Gliders and I physically (and emotionally now, really) can no longer do it on my own.

I am so blessed to have such an abundant life but at the same time I am drowning.

Would you, or do you know someone who would, give some of my Sugar Gliders a good home? They are Standard Gray Sugar Gliders.

Click on a picture to view.

A 3 year OOP pair of brothers. Very sweet! One neutered and one unaltered.

A 9 week OOP male who is unaltered. I did a good job with him until he was about 5 weeks OOP, then I dropped the ball on his bonding and he became Mr. Crabby Pants. I bet he'll warm right up to you though if you give him a yogi and a head rub. He is the one on the left.

A 6 1/2 year OOP male and female, the male has been neutered. The female is a sweetie pie and the male is a stinker. If you have the patience you'll get him to warm up to you. He is on the right.

This is the female. I have other pictures of her. I thought this one was so cute!

I need to make it VERY clear that the female cannot be bred. She is too old. That is why I had her mate neutered. In fact, I am scared to let her go because I am afraid someone will try to breed her.

I would consider letting you adopt for free if you are either someone from this forum whom I recognize, or you are recommended by someone from this forum whom I recognize. I honestly don't know what kind of a price tag to put on them otherwise; this isn't about the money, however I do need to make sure they go to responsible homes. Contact me and we'll talk about it.

If you adopt the brother pair I am willing to sell you their 100 gallon Glide-arium, 2 Custom Cage Liners, 3/4 bounce Custom Choice Cruiser, a cage pouch and a bonding pouch. These items are less than a year old and I paid $225 for all of it. I would be happy to get $125 for it.

If you adopt the male/female pair, same thing. They have the same setup and I will sell it to you.

If the Sugar Gliders get adopted and the new owner(s) do not buy the cage items I'll be open to selling the cage items separately.

I am very glad to hear about that! I didn't have any luck here but it seems they don't need it . If I lived on my own I would get that older pair, the girl sounds like such a doll. Sigh, anyway if the custom cruisers aren't taken I would be interested in one.

Hi again

Folks are contacting me and asking about the boys. I updated this thread quite some time ago to announce that the boys found a home. I think folks aren't reading the entire thread prior to contacting me

Perhaps a moderator could update my original post with the following information:

Still available:
The male/female bonded pair.

No longer available:
The 3 year OOP pair of brothers.
The 9 week OOP boy.

Just thought I'd ask.

Hi, I was wondering if you still have your pair available. I haven't been here since March, but I was just thinking maybe I could get some suggies again. I miss them. I will try to send you a provate message, though I have never been the brightest with technology.

Also, BRITTNEY :D If you see this, and you still have my phone number could you text me? I lost my phone and all my contacts, and I never talked to you again :(

The pair is still available. Lilian, I did not hear back from you. I sent you an email saying you may have them if you can get them from my home to yours.

I posted a very lengthy ad (more like a dissertation) on Craigslist for the pair. I have interviewed a handful of people. I think I scare most of them away when I tell them what it takes to be a responsible owner and do right by these critters.

But anyway...

This evening I received the following email:
is your sugar gliders still for sale. i am looking for a mascot for a semi professional football team so they will be take great care of.

Thirty minutes later I received another email from the same person:
i am ready to buy the both of them

Can I get a "Hell no!" from the forum? Everybody now...

3...

HELL NO!

Hi,

My name is Kim and my family would be first time Sugar Glider family members. It is myself, my 14 year old son and my mom(she is home 24/7) we are huge animal lovers! I have been researching gliders including a youtube video series by a exotic pet veteranarian/glider owner. I know your posting is older and I read through the thread, hopefully I read the entire thing. Do you have any gliders left? I would prefer a pair. We have no problem putting work into any older ones that did not get bonded. You can contact me on my cell at 719-271-0474(text is fine)
I live in the Briargate area in Colorado Springs.
Thank you for taking time to read my request

Welcome Kim

Please do research here in the forum using the gliderpedia .

The vet videos are not entirely accurate information. He simplifies glider care and gives some out right bad advice. Pellets are not an adequate diet and sticking your thumb in a glider's mouth to stop biting can severely injure a glider's jaw.

Thank you so much for the welcome! I will definitely read through the gliderpedia. We are excited to bring gliders into our home but we definitely want to make sure we are prepared! We have friends up in Greeley that we visit who have a pair of boys. We love spending time with their babies. Again, thanks!

Folks - this thread was started in JULY 2013

It is unlikely that these gliders are still available, and the original poster is no longer active on the forum. (Last post by Indigo was Sept 2013).

This is an old thread so the gliders are probably no longer available.

Please do a lot of research before choosing sugar gliders as your new furry friends.

They really are not ideal pets for small children who may not be able to handle them carefully enough to avoid frightening or injuring the gliders. Gliders can inflict some pretty painful bites because they have very long incisors.

I once came home from the vet with several bandaids on MY HANDS because I was holding a glider while the vet trimmed her nails. She was a new glider to me and was not yet trusting in my hands holding her. The only way she had to tell us that she was afraid was by biting - but her nails were extremely long and had to be trimmed.
