I made a few toys today and thought I'd post them for inspiration. I love looking at other people's toys to get ideas, so time to pay it forward.

Special thanks to Leela for the straws!!!

Unfortunately I don't have a picture, but before I brought Mowgli home, I would find Loo with all sorts of things my favorite was on laundry day, I got her into a clean pouch to find not one but TWO little army men, a chunk of dried cantaloupe she got out of an egg and decided to sleep with instead of eat, and an assortment of leaves from her vine I have around the corner of the cage.

It was like a strange little love nest. And you can't tell me plastic army men would be comfortable to snuggle with! lol now that Mowgli is in there, nothing goes in or out but fleece or he grumbles and throws it out

I have found a bracelet a couple of times, and one time two of them, not sure which of the three gliders did it. They're very thin, light weight bracelets, And only have three or four of those bracelets, and they don't bother with them too much or anything else really . They' like to toss some toys about the cage though.

Ha! I love the antics of these silly creatures! Thanks for sharing your stories.
My boys haven't been playing with their toys as much since I made them proper glider wheels. Brisbane doesn't even come out of the cage anymore as he would rather just play in the wheel!

So I got a bit of a surprise today. I was searching Pinterest for sugar glider ideas and I found myself staring back at my own cage. Someone had pinned the pictures from this old post. Kinda cool!

Those are straws, just twist them through a pencil sharpener, it will spiral. The force you push through will determine the size of spiraling.

Thanks. I guess I need a better pencil shapener because the straws I bought from the dollar store wouldn't work. Maybe the straws are too big but I don't think so.

I usually by cheap ones at dollar store, they last a while because I don't make toys that often. I like to buy the ones that have the holding case that keeps the pencil shavings from falling all over the place. I detach the sharpener and save the holding case for forage toy making. So far I only made one of those, but unfortunately it's too difficult to share pic without photobucket. Any way, I just use my soldering iron to melt a hole large enough to get a c-link or thread craft lace through to make forage cups. I've done this with plastic Easter eggs, toothbrush covers, and plastic shot glasses so far in addition to the one sharpener holding case.

Thanks for the help. I discovered what I did wrong. I was putting the lid back on and trying to stuff a big straw into a small hole. Duh

Here is a link for the Wacky-Whirly straw cutter. Super cheap and simple to use vs a pencil sharpener. Hope this helps :)
