Feb 19, 2012 2-19-12 Last night I was making the ball pit & scratched my eyeball, so I didn't write a journal, but I have lots to write about today. First in case I didn't journal it, lil' buddies name is Cab (for Cabernet/Taxi Cab & my son can say it :P ). Second he ate all of the fruit smoothie & veggie relish. Gave him the first mix I made again last night & he ate most of that too (only left a teaspoon!). As stated, scratched my eyeball last night and had to go to the dr/ER. They numbed my eye, dyed it, looked at it with a black light, washed it, then numbed it again. We finished the ball pit today lol. I met Cora and took her the fleece for my girls, I am going to go see them hopefully tomorro but def sometime this week. She said she gave them some of the fleece already; Brandy crabbled a little but the other two kept eating their mealies-yay! I also weighed Cab tonight and he only weighs 52 grams. I think that he's younger then the PPP told me. Trying to find more toys I can make him/figure out how to sew the fleece. Guess that's about it. I'm sooo ready to move and get settled in so that I can have everything ready for my girls; Also setting up his vet appointment (since it had to be canceled) for this wed.
Feb 18, 2012 2-18-12 Tonight I started making the other 2 recipes I want to try for Cab (SSG Fruit Smoothie #2 & Veggie Relish #2) but of course my microwave blows out so I can't nuke the sweet potatoes for the veggie relish; Fruit Smoothie #2 is in the freezer though. Idk why but the fruit only made 3 and 1/2 ice cube trays worth. If I want this to last as long as the Fruit/Veggie mix from yesterday it looks like I'll need to make more. Tomorrow we are getting a new microwave so I'll be able to finish the Veggie relish then. Tonight I gave him part of the veggies I already had chopped and the Fruit Smoothie...hopefully it will be gone in the morning! I also finished making the dining hall besides decor-which I can add later. Hubby also let me get some more fleece so that I can make him/the females I'm soon to get another set of toys :D Tell ya'll in the morning how he eats tonight.
Feb 17, 2012 Notes about SSG HPW Today I made the SSG HPW meal plan using the SSG Fruit & Veggie Mix 1. First off it made a LOT more then I expected. I bought 6 ice cub trays today with 16 spaces each which equals 96; each cube has 1 Tbs of the mix & 3/4 tsp HPW. According to their feeding directions 1 glider should get 2 cubs. Anyway all of the spots were filled & I also used my baby bullet thing to make another few & I still have over half left. I'm going to have to let the first set freeze then put in the next set. According to my calculations, feeding 2 spots per day to just him would last me about 96 days! But since in 17 days I will be getting the females I figure it'll last about 36 days-which is fine. I have also decided to make a batch of SSG Fruit Smoothie 2 & Veggie Relish 2, but I might not make them into actual smoothies-reason below. I want to make a diff batch(s) to give variety-I'd hate eating the same food every day so they prob do too. If All the batches do the same amount I'm looking at enough food for a total of 56 days. I also started to make the dining hall today to deter any messes, but it looks like I shouldnt worry about it tonight because he won't eat it! Idk if its because its smooth or because its not food he's ever had (bought from PPP so all he's had is pellets). I tried putting yogies in it ("sprinkled" on top), which he ate, but he hasnt touched the rest. He's also drinking more water, but other then that he's acting normal. However, I simply can't afford to switch feeds & the ingrediants weren't cheap today by any means so at this point idk what to do.well, I had to get up extra early yhis morning due to DD having a check up so I'm loggin.
Feb 16, 2012 Progress 2-16-12 I am so excited about his progress! Yesterday he allowed me to pet him while he was in the cage (for the first time) for a minute & just now he took a his first treat from me-a yogie. He did crab at me, but he still took it! I think things are progressing pretty well, though I know we have a way to go before he's bonded enough to trust him on my shoulder. As soon as we move I'm getting my tent, but right now I can't get it out. I also got my HPW/bee pollen in today, but I ended up throwing the first batch out because I had no way to make it into 1tsp cubes as I forgot we didn't have any ice trays. Guess I will go again tomorrow...I burnt the eggs anyway (cooked in the pan with no butter or oil):P-going to try the microwave tomorrow too. I didn't know about this journal thing , so I will add that we made a 2ftwx5fthx2ftd cage for him on Monday and that in a lil over two weeks I am going to adopt 3 more from Cora. They are females named Chardonnay, Sangria, & Brandy. I have decided to change his name since he doean't know it yet; it used to be MacGyver (Mac) now I can't decide between Cabernet/Taxi cab (Cab) and Merlot.
