 New gliders

Boy, the transition went smoothly. Rick and I met Megan in Burleson, she had a homemade cage (that doesn't seem to be too sturdy and it stinks! Gotta wash it today...) and a box of food and some toys etc. The babies were in a cat carrier with a towel and a tiki hut. The larger one allowed me to rub his tummy until the smaller one crabbed and lunged. Protecting his brother? For now I'm going to call them Cutie and Pie, Cutie being the smaller one and Pie the one who's as sweet as. Have to come up with good names, I don't like Quimby and Quigley, too I don't know yuck.

They didn't seem at all stressed. Ate a little, then started playing. Maybe having their familiar things helped, I don't know. Of course, they have always been treated well, you can tell, and that helps a lot.

I put Shikoni's pouch in so they would be secure when I take them to the vet later this morning. They were in it before I could get it tied to the cage bars! Little buggers.

This will be a busy morning. I have to take them to Temple at 8:30; the receptionist told me on the phone that I could wait while the neutering is done and take them home. I also have to go get mealies while I'm in town, and also take Domino to his vet to have the staples removed from his leg. Boy oh man, I probably won't get home til noon!

I hope their neutering goes as well as Shikoni's! They seem to be healthy enough.

More later.

My News
Kioko and Washi came to live with me on 11/23/08: five-year old brothers. As of February '09, we're having great luck with bringing them all together into one happy little colony.

My Bio
Very old, b. 1957 in New Martinsville, WVa. Live in Central Texas now. I'm Mother to Ophelia, a 4-foot ball python; Domino, a regular cat; and Shikoni, Washi and Kioko, three lively gliders; and Step-Mother to Mike, a 13-year old former stray yellow shepherd. We and other humans all live together in quite surprising harmony.
