As nasty as this sounds, have you tried cutting them up a bit so that they can see/smell the insides of the worm?
That was suggested to us, it worked. Also, it took Belle a while to come around to mealworms. Baron still won't have anything to do with them. I think maybe he's still to young.
We haven't tried the crickets yet, so I can't help you there! :) Good luck!
