Interesting you mentioned the mirror. When Mika first saw the mirror, she thought it was another glider. She realized after touching it, that it wasn't another glider and now it doesn't matter to her.

I let mine roam free. I've even let them roam outside free (wouldn't suggest this to 99.9% of people). Mika has slept in the stove, in the couch, in my bed (when I'm not in it), in a paper-back book, in the lining of my winter coat, in a panda halloween mask, in shoes, as well as her normal places.

They've jumped to ceiling fan chains and climbed up, landed on top of lights (turned off and cool),and mika found a way into the attic while in the kitchen. Look at Clara's web site. I don't supervise them in my room because it is tested over a lot of time and every square inch has been looked over. In the kitchen, bathroom, living room, I'll watch and listen to them while they're out. I use lights which won't burn them, and a space heater cool to the touch.
The ceiling fan is permanently disabled (remember, they jumped to the chains which could have turned it on, if it wasn't disabled)
