: So far I have determined that wood products are not a good idea in glider cages. Especially when I put treelimbs in the cages, they urinate all the way down the things, so I have to pull them out, wash them, and leave them out in the sun for a week before reinstallation. : I suggest using plastic nesting boxes. My favorite is a small icecream container or anything similar such as a large butter tub or tupperware thing. These allow you to clean with soap and water and reinstall nice and dry in a matter of a minute. It also allows you to always pull off the lid if you need to get to the animals. I do so often. I can also clean the cages during the day, and instead of having 4 animals scurry all over the cage or me, I can just remove the nestbox from its hanging position and put it into a temporary cage. Terry, The biggest problem I have with the wood in her cage is not that she urinates on/in it; I put it through the dishwasher rinse cycle once a week or so and it's fine. The biggest concern with wood for me is that she is systematically EATING her nesting box! So far, she's gotten about through the first layer of wood. This is pretty strange, since I provide her with safe branches to munch, and lots of toys to play with, and a dog buiscuit each night to munch, too. Does anyone have any thoughts? I would think maybe she was bored, but she has sooo many toys and a huge cage, and I play with her constantly when I'm not asleep. Thanks, Tiffany
