I went back through and read posts that I hadn't seen - I found one that needs to be discussed.
It was under the heading of 411 and was posted by Tara. This is what it said
: What is leadbeaters?

Cat,

Leadbeaters is the nastiest concoction that I have ever made in my life!
But my babies love it. It's a mixture to give to your gliders as a main part of
their diet. Here's the recipe:

Warm Water: 450 ml or 15.2 oz
Honey: 450 ml or 15.2 oz
High protein baby cereal (I use oatmeal): 75 grams or 2.6 oz
Vitamin mineral supplement (Vionate) 3 tsp.
these are the directions I was given: mix warm water and honey. In separate bowl,
blend eggs until
smooth. To eggs, gradually add honey/water, then vitamin powder, then cereal,
blending after each until smooth.

Okay, if you have a blender throw the water, honey and eggs in and blend until smooth.
Then add the dry stuff one at a time
blending until smooth after each. The above makes a LOT! I cut the recipe in half.
That lasts over two weeks. the serving for two gliders is Two teaspoons.
My hint to you is to use an ice cube tray and measure out two teaspoons into each
cube and freeze. It doesn't get rock solid, but firm. If you have one glider, then just
use
half a cube each night, or the whole for two gliders.
Vionate is a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement that can be found at a pet store,
probably better luck at a store with a lot of reptiles. That was my experience.
Another brand name is Prime.
I got the above stuff from the lecture notes of Dr. Johnson-Delaney, given to me by
my vet. (just wanted to identify the source).

I'm sure this is more than you needed, but I hope it helps.
Tara

It sounds like this recipe uses raw eggs . . . Am I the only one that read it this way?
I think that is very dangerous. The eggs should either be boiled or scrambled. Raw eggs can contaminate and kill.
If anyone sees this and follows it - could be horrible.
