Cherries themselves are not poisonous, but the pits and the branches are. My gliders like cherries! Just be sure you always remove the pits.
Same with peaches btw, the pits are poisonous, but the fruit itself is fine. I don't know offhand if the branches are, my favorite site with all the poisonous/non-poisonous plants for gliders (ISGA) is unavailable. With apples, every part of them is just fine.
