Subject: lost foot!!! Guilt/warning... advice...

Hello all... Its been a VERY long time since I've posted or been to the board... so hi to all!

I had a terrible discovery today while doing my weekly cage cleaning, I have five female gliders... one 2 yr old adult, her two 9 month old daughters, and her two 9 month old nieces. I had stayed out all night last night and left my mom to feed my girls so I personally didn't check them last night but today I decided to pry them out of their hanging cage pouch and put in a new one, they had trashed the old one.. ripped holes in it, sleeping in the lining etc ( I made it out of polar fleece, double lined ) while attempting to pull the sleepy gliders out I realized in terror that one of my girls feet were stuck, figuring it was just caught on her nail I tried to free her myself... and saw that her foot was encased in fabric/string etc; the poor little thing must have been that way for at least 24hrs and seems to have lost her foot in the process, I slowly pulled then cut off all of the fabric that I could but her actual little foot seems to be gone!!! I cant explain the guilt I feel knowing that she must have cchewed her foot off trying to get free... she isn't thinner and seems fine running around ( limping alittle of course ) and climbing... she went and got a drink of water and nibbled for a sec. on a piece of kiwi but outside of that seems ok... her sisters are crawling all over her and I swear look sympathetic... I want to know if anyone else has had this happen... or for whatever reason has a 3 footed glider. She seems able to jump and climb both the cage sides and branches but I'm worried about her.

I took the pouch and threw it away, along with all the others I have, I know my girls prefer pouches but I can't imagine one ever suffering like that again.. so its back to their nesting box.

Please let me know if there is anything I should do.. there is no blood or open wound.

Thank you...
