: I was wondering if anyone new the exact size the holes in the pet balls should be for a glider? I just got a ball and I was wondering if I should file the holes bigger or not, they are 1/8" now. i have one huge one made for gerbils i think, biggest one they make. i dont know what size the holes are. my glider loves it. never had problems with getting toes caught or anything but i watch him very close every minute he is in it, i have other pets to watch out for and im paranoid about my glider getting hurt at all. during our evening play time he will crawl over to it and sit in it til i shut it and put it on the floor. i follow him around and when he is done he rolls it back to me and i open it and he comes out. i know when he is done because every other minute i call him and open my arms. if he turns away and rolls away, he is still playing. when he turns back and comes to me, he is done. he stays in it for 5-10minutes usually before comeing back to me. i never ever force him. it started as voluntary with some treats in the ball, and he figured out the rolling thing right away. this is a glider that lovesd his excercise wodent wheel too. i think its a great toy, but easily abused. its not ment as replacement for time spent with a glider or time you don't have to watch the glider. but as a toy, it has its place in my gliders fun time, which is carefully monitored at all times. i know the dangers of these balls, i know lots of other dangers for gliders outside their cage. but i also have common sense that tells me if im careful, if i take the right precautions, if i use my eyes, my glider can have this toy.
