Wow... sounds like things are going great for you... one week, I'm impressed. I would be concerned about her eating and playtime though. You said she will not eat much but the grapes and juice you give her... try to make a batch of leadbeaters. Most gliders love it, that and seeing how gliders can be picky eaters (to say the least) it is best to chop the food up in small peices and feed them together so it's more difficult to eat just the grapes and not the chicken. This has worked well for my picky guys! It's almost like saying "HA! I tricked you into a balanced diet!" So, give that a try. When are you feeding your glider too? Often times earlier will prevent the glider from eating seeing how they aren't always up then, and the food will no longer be fresh and crisp.

You had also said that she sits in the cage doing nothing. What kind of toys do you have in there? Some that I have found that my gliders love are hemp ropes (knotted and hung) rope ladders, branches, mirrors and bells, WODENT WHEEL (solid ones not wire) and strips of cloth to climb on. My gliders are incredibly active with their toys... initially they did not like them. The toys were foriegn and invading their space (they didn't smell like me!) so, I placed them with my PJ's and sheets that smelled like me and later added them to their cage. They were MUCH MORE receptive after the scent became familiar to them. Physical activity is necessary for a glider, so the more toys and out of cage play time, the better.

You said you put her back inside at eight? Do you play with her after that? Seeing how day time is bonding time, and night time is play time, she may be depressed due to lack of play time with her favorite people! I would definately try to mend this situation by giving extra TLC to the little one. Being a lone glider in a new home is often scary (I would imagine anyways!)

Best of luck and it sounds like you are doing great! DOn't get discouraged... Everything will fall into place!

Take Care,

Sadie
