Subject: PLEASE HELP me get info for my landlord Posted by Paul on June 11, 2000 at 16:59:49 from 169.207.126.247 I'm trying to pursuade my landlord to let me keep a sugar glider in the apartment. Even with extra rent and the last month's rent in advance on the table, he's still very reluctant. (He had a bad experience with some ferrets in the past.) I've convinced him not to say no right away, but he wants some more info. Please give me your own responses as experienced owners and point me to web sites that might have the following info: - Are there any sites that compare SG ownership with other pets he might be familiar with? He wants this info to try to get a handle on what they're like, since like everyone else he has never heard of them. (I told him it's kind of like keeping a bird in terms of cleaning up after them.) - Just how much damage do these things usually cause? How much do they go to the bathroom outside their cages? How much damage does their urine/feces do? (He's worried that it might eat away at the carpet; apparently the ferret urine or the stuff they used to clean it up did.) How completely can you clean it up and get the smell out? I guess those are his major issues right now. Any other info that may make him feel better about having one in the apartment would also be good. Any testimonials from happy landlords out there? Thanks for your help! -- pwf
