Jess I feel sorry as hell for you but to echo everyone else this is why I would never sell my glider to a teenager. Yes you can be commited but what is going to happen in the next fir=fteen years of your life? You want to go to college you want to start meeting new friends, what will your parents life dictate? You may meet the man you want to marry but he hates pets. Would you say no say to Leo Dicaprio if he asked you out but hated gliders. I am 30 I am buying my own place have the ability to choose where I live and I know my husband loves my gliders as much as I do. It is sooo much easier for me. Would you give up college for Roo? just what is reasonable. You have a lot to think about but perhaps when we start advising young people to think seriously you will actually support us and give your own problems as an example. We only love gliders and most of us who speak like this have had to rescue gliders from unprepared owners and it breaks our hearts. Remember this in an environment wherew everyone tells people not to get older gliders and only get babies. I recently adopted out one year olds despite the adopters initail reservations and all the owners are amazed not to have the problems that most people are having with babies. Good luck with deciding what to do : Hey Jess, : I've been teaching school, but had to give up my house and move to an apartment to go to grad school (the apartment doesn't allow gliders.) Eos has a 2x2x4 cage, and there is NO WAY I was leaving her behind. Soooo, : my husband disguised it as a table with this neat top that will lift off, then I made a cloth for it that I can Velco back when she's in there. We plan to put a TV on top - noone will be the wiser. The hardest thing will be not showing her off all the time. : This is one of those things that Bourbon and others are trying to get people to thing about before buying - (and I did - I wrote every state where I was applying to make sure they were legal, etc.) But since you have Roo already, and there's no way to leave her, you'll have to find a way. I wouldn't worry too much - something will work out. I'd be interested to see how other college students handle this, though. A lot of UT students seem to have gliders. My sister's lives in a large cage in her closet - she added a lock after she moved in. So how bout it guys? : Tiffany : : : I plan on going to Cornell University College when I graduate highschool. And I am assuming that Roo will still be alive in 5 years. I dont know what I will do with her, she cant live on campus cause thats not allowed. And I dont know if I could afford an apartment. Oh no!!! Anybody here that can clear me up on this college factor that has come up? Thankx! : : -Roo- : : p.s. : : PLEASE no flames!!! :o) :o) :o)
