: Hi Everyone!

: Just want to share my recent experience and thoughts of my new baby boy, Buddie. I felt that I got him at a very young age as you can see from the Outback Pets' picture. However, everything including the bonding process has been extremely pleasant and enjoyable. Buddie has been with me for 10 days now and I feel that he is 90% bonded. Him being so young, I was never intimidated by crabbing or biting that most of you first time owner are facing. I remember the first time I went to pick him up and to my surprise he didn't crab or lunge at my fingers. Instead, he just climbed onto my fingers and was attracted to the warmth of my hands. So the days go on and rarely I would ever witness him crabbing. And when he did I just insisted on petting him, as to comfort his disturbance, and soon he would be back to his peaceful self again. Unlike my first glider, Pookie, I would dare not do the same because I new that if she gave me a nip, and she was old enough that it would really hurt. Buddie is very receptive and trusting. He knows my scent well in that when he is sleeping in his cage, I go to stick my fingers near his nose and he just climbs on. Pretty convient, I would say. Furthermore, he is so trusting in that he can just go into a deep sleep in my hand. How deep and how do I know, you may ask? Well I know he is in a deep sleep when his little body is limp and I can move his body in different positioin without him waking up. In addition, you know that he is in a really deep sleep when his hands and feet starts twitching. Then his whole body starts to twitch, and soon he is rolling all about. One time, he even fell from the palm of my hands onto my bed. Then he would tiredly climb back onto my hand and curl up. If I didn't no any better I would think he is having some type of dream, or maybe he is just a hard sleeper.

: I wonder sometimes if I am spoiling him too much. Given a choice, he would rather sleep in my hand or snuggle up against my neck than sleep in his cage. Sometimes I put him in the cage so that I can take a nap and he would just be bouncing around and clinging on the front face of the cage with his nose sticking out(as if he was saying, "let me out, what did I do wrong, please let me out"). And so I would let him out and he would snuggle up in my hands to go to sleep.

: So what do all of you think about the age at which I got my glider?
: Did anyone else get there glider as young as mine?

: Hoped y'all enjoyed my post!

: Austin, TX glider,
: Xay

I got a glider from Outback Pets that was about that young. In my opinion she was taken away from her mother too young. Her tail was not fluffed out yet.
She cried (not crabbing) for her mother and had trouble eating solid food at first. I had to hand feed her and carry her in my pocket almost non-stop for the first two weeks.
She would get cold if I put her back in her cage. This may be why your glider likes the warmth of your hand so much.
She too bonded very quickly, but after a couple of months she became very insecure and would jump at every noise or movement. She liked me, but was very scared of everyone else. After much hard work, patience and socializing she is starting to come around. She has finally started to calm down.
This is just my experience, it may turn out different for you. My advice would be to spend as much time as possible your glider and make sure to keep him warm. I wish you good luck.
