Wow! Thank you all for your advise. Sorry I was long in answering - it's been a BUSY week - first time online in DAYS! I am feeling particularly brave, and will purchase a couple of crickets tomorrow at our weekly "nail session". I'll let you all know how it goes. Meanwhile - I have two girls - Buffy and Boomer. Boomer was supposed to be a male so we could breed. We got Buffy and had planned to wait 3 or 4 months before we purchased a male, but the pet store called and said they had the PERFECT mate for Buffy. We went down fully intending to tell them no thanks, but you all know the story. Boomer jumped immediately on my dh (dear husband)'s head and he was in love. So... Boomer came home with us. (In my jacket pocket.) Not knowing as much about sg's as I thought, I saw that Boomer didn't have a scent gland on "his" head, but thought it came with maturity. Then I discovered this site. And low and behold - there was a little tiny male with a scent gland. So the next day when I was loading the sg's into my pouch to take them to work, I flipped Boomer over - yup. A pouch. The pet store was appropriately embarrassed. Turns out they had two new sg's that day - a male and a female. It was a Saturday and they were incredibly busy, and without saying anything, someone sold the little male. Shortly afterwards, in we came - went straight to the sg's - fell in love, stuck "him" in my pocket - and took "him" home. (To compensate, they have agreed to arrange "stud" services free of charge... we are about to avail ourselves of that little benefit here shortly - any ideas on how to introduce the girls to their little temporary friend?) Anyway - LONG story short - the girls are wonderful little buddies of mine - it's too hot in the summer here to take them to work everyday (I carry them in a black fanny pack) but when winter rolls around, they'll be coming with me again. Thanks again for all your ideas - I'll keep you posted. Collette
