When you bought this female where did you buy it? Alot of breeders try to make their babies sound as young as possible because most people want young pets. But instesd this could have been much older than thought because 6 wks. out of the pouch is the same size as an 11 month old. And unless you were actually there to see the baby and record it progress you truely don't know. You have to go on what the breeder tells you. A big mis-conception about Gliders is age. A Sugar Glider is born (comes out of the mothers womb) 16 days after conception. It crawls up the outside of the body and into the pouch. It looks like a little fetus at this stage and would be in mammals, but this is a marsupial, it attaches to the mothers nipple inside the pouch and grows up here. They don't open their eyes for another 3 months, but are still suckling and will continue for another 3 weeks or so. When they open their eyes they are about 1 1/2 inches long, and grow rapidly. So when they climb out of the pouch and are eating completely on their own they are about 4 months old. But since most breeders are selling the babies to first time buyers they can tell them anything, so the younger they can make them sound the more likely they will make a sale. Again however a 6 month old (6 to 8 weeks out of the pouch) looks just like a 11 month old or older. Since females don't have a bald spot you can't tell their age exactly.

We pull (take the babies from mom) our babies right when the eyes are first cracking open and bottle-feed. We become the parents keeping them oin a heating pad and feed them around the clock for several days. This allows us to form a very strong bond. Our babies want to stay on us and rarely try to get off us. But are really bonded to humans in general, not just us. So once they start eating on their own (our "Supreme Blend") we start cutting back on their baby formula ("Nekton-Lori")and just sprinkle it ofer the Supreme Blend.

The Supreme Blend is a Fruit, Nut & Honey mix with Colloidal Minerals, Organicly grown fruit juice powder and vitamin & mineral powder, in an apple sauce consistancy.

The Nekton-Lori (baby Glider formula) is a nector based product that is very close to the "milk" the mother produces. A milk product can cause digestive problems in the babies.

We sell these and other Glider products, which can be found in our catalog at our web site at:
