: : : I just got my new glider today. The poor thing was SO scared. I got her home, and put her in the cage. She's been doing TONS of "crabbing" -- and I'm just wondering what to do next. I was told to keep her in the cage for a few days, with a cover on it. Let her get used to my face and smell. Is this right? PLEASE let me know what to do! THANKS.

: If you cover the cage, how will she get used to anything? I agree with Tara, as long as she has a nest box, I don't see any reason to cover the cage. She is already lonely and frightened and isolating her with a cover will increase her fear.

: Personally, I would think she would get to know you better if you put her in a pocket and let her sleep there for a while each day. Then, she will get to know your scent and sound.

: Maria

Maria is right, covering the glider will just scare it more. If you want it to get used to you ou should let it see you.
