: : I just got my new glider today. The poor thing was SO scared. I got her home, and put her in the cage. She's been doing TONS of "crabbing" -- and I'm just wondering what to do next. I was told to keep her in the cage for a few days, with a cover on it. Let her get used to my face and smell. Is this right? PLEASE let me know what to do! THANKS.

If you cover the cage, how will she get used to anything? I agree with Tara, as long as she has a nest box, I don't see any reason to cover the cage. She is already lonely and frightened and isolating her with a cover will increase her fear.

Personally, I would think she would get to know you better if you put her in a pocket and let her sleep there for a while each day. Then, she will get to know your scent and sound.
