I usually wean somewhere between 45 - 60 days oop. It depends on size and whether or not they are eating on their own. Typically by the time they are ready to wean their tails are fully fluffed out. Single babies tend to come oop later than twins and so are usually weaned at an earlier time oop.

I start handling babies almost as soon as they are oop. Typically once babies are oop, mom will leave them in the nest with dad while she goes to eat. Then, I can handle babies without disturbing her. Never try to pull babies off of mom if they have their heads in her pouch. You could damage her if they have a grip on her nipples.
