Nope, but those GOLIATH worms look so cool! I couldn't feed those to my babies just because they are cool looking. Let me know if you try some of those, and if they like them.
OH MY!! I am sure the babies would love them but I don't know if I could bring myself to touch them, it took a lot for me tyo touch a mealie. I think I will stick with them. But I am curious how yours like them?
i hate the feel of wax worms, they are just to squishy
EWE! I agree! Even if you pick them up with tweezers, you can feel them squish. I wish I had more of a tolerance for worms period. Mealies aren't bad at all but any worm is gross. Super worms gross me out the most - the way they are so active and curl around your finger and hold on. UCK!
I bought Butter Worms - my gliders AND my chameleon hated them! Same with the Phoenix worms.
I bought the Goliath worms. I intended to let them morph into the HUGE moths and feed those to my gliders during tent time. But- when I learned that a primary part of their diet is tobacco - I got concerned about what that would do to my gliders. They were cool, however!
Where does everyone get these different kinds of worms? I have never even seen any different kind of worm besides mealies. Also, what other insects can/do you guys feed your gliders?
You can get the wax worms at Petco -- I just got some tonight for free with a coupon the sent me for joining their P.A.L.S program. Haven't tried them yet but will later on tonight.
My guys have had waxies, supers & of course mealies. They LOVE waxies & adore their mealies, the supers were tolerated as they had no other option, one of my babies said to heck with it & just waited for mealies! LOL
The butterworms and waxworms are packed with nutrients and great for any animal that consumes them-they have alot more protein than most worms. The butterworms are super expensive though. Waxworms are also more expensive than mealworms but not as bad. The Goliath worms are gorgeous. I would kind of like to have those as a pet!! lol
Hi, I have been reading the postings for a while and decided to join in. We have been feeding the Phoenix worms to our suggies for a little while. I know that our female, Priscilla and one of the boys, Leo, will eat them. The male, Elvis (my wife named them)and the other boy, Rocky, will not touch them. I have not tried any of the others shown other than the regular mealworms that all of them eat.The Phoenix worms are supposed to be high in calcium and low in fat. I know that if I put 12 to 16 in the feeding bowl before I go to sleep, Priscilla and Leo will come down and eat them all before going up to the apple and other foods. The Phoenix worms normally come in a small container and are white in color and darken over time. Supposedly they are higher in calcium the darker they get. I buy them from exotic nutrition.
Farns welcome to the site, my question is those blue golithe worms, will they make my gliders poop blue? Those worms are really blue and I would worry if i saw blue poop in the cage. Just curious.
Thanks Tinkertoy! I do not know what the poo would be but i know our four would look at those Goliath worms and run! I tried to feed them the superworms and they just ignored them and waited for me to remove the dish the next day, not one touched. I gave them the regular mealies and they ate them up!
