Just saw the latest pictures of your gorgeous twins Harry and Rosie. They look so good and very healthy for being premies. When will they be coming home? I bet your son and dil can't wait to get them home. It was a lot more fun when my sons twins came home I got to hold them all the time since I lived across the street. They came home after reaching 4 lbs and being able to take the bottle actually Hayden came home a couple of days before Bethany he was the larger of the twins.I am so happy for your family.

Can't wait till they get to go home Rita. They are just gorgeous.

At this time, we have no idea when they might come home. They still "forget" to breath and dont have the sucking/breathing/swallowing thing down yet.

Harry did the "forget to breathe" thing while Eric and Terry were there. Its usually Rosie who does this so I was surprised it was Harry.

Harry and Rose are one month old today! I cant believe its been a month already.

That's incredible though! My little niece is a little over 4 months old now but still on oxygen. They are all little miracles.

Yes, they were a month old on June 4th. They will be 5 weeks old this coming Monday.

I am going to see them again tomorrow but will make it a very short visit as I still have things to do at the house before the floor guys come on Tuesday.

Rita I still say prayers for your babies! For them to continue doing well and for them to master that sucking swallowing breathing thing. They are just so gorgeous and Rosie's cheeks are so fluffy now...lol This past month has gone by so fast. It seems like it was just yesterday we first read your first post in this thread.

If it makes you feel any better... the NICU nurses here say no matter how early babies are born, they don't usually master that sucking swallowing breathing thing until that time when they would have been 34 or 35 weeks. When I go and visit Camryn.. IF there is a nice nurse there.... I ask LOTS of questions..lol I always end up apologizing but she is always so nice and answers every question.

Since Harry and Rose were 28 weeks when born, they still have a few more weeks.

It will be nice to have them home, but then I wont be able to pop in and see them anytime I want!

I'll bet that Rita is on a first name basis with the parking attendant and the security guards at Childrens.

Actually, they will be 5 weeks old tomorrow!!! They were born on May 4th, but since May has 5 weeks - there is an extra week. I cant believe it!

And today we had HUGE progress!!! Both Harry and Rosie drank milk from a bottle!!! Not much milk mind you - BUT THEY DID IT!!! They both would take a couple of sucks - then have to stop to breathe. Harry choked on his first swallow. BUT THEY DID IT!!!

I was there for about 4 hours today and got to feed both Rosie and Harry their bottles. They have 30 minutes to try to drink 2 ounces of milk - if they dont - it gets poured into their feeding tubes. Of course, neither one could finish - but they will soon!!!

That's one more step closer to going home!!!

We have had a major set back today with Harry. He has para-influenza.

There was a scare around Memorial Day week-end when one of the babies had gotten sick. Evidently, the virus is still lingering in the hospital.

I was with Harry and Rosie from around 3:00 yesterday until around 6:30 last night and both of them seemed fine. But their monitors keep going off - which means their oxygen is low. Harry's went off alot while I was there and it concerned me. But the nurses didnt seem concerned and said they thought it was the machine. So I didnt worry about it any further.

Anyway, he got sick a little after midnight last night and it was touch and go with him for a few hours. He is in an incubator again and on 35% oxygen. Jim and Jess were with the babies all afternoon and Jess said while holding Harry, he turned gray- blue a few times.

They also said it is more than likely Rosie and all the other babies in the room will end up getting sick, too. One set of twins was supposed to go home this week-end - but they wont be allowed to now as this is highly contagious and anyone can get it.

This is especially bad for tiny, pre-mature babies.


I am so worried. I dont know what to think. Jim and Jess are beside themselves with worry.

Please keep Harry, Rosie and all the other preemie babies in your prayers.

I never stopped Rita! I will continue to pray for them. I am sorry I had missed a few posts...I didn't realize they sucked from the bottle and everything! That is just awesome! I am so sorry that Harry has gotten sick. He will be fine... I know he will!

I will continue to pray for Harry and Rosie. I will also add all the other premie babies. I was happy to hear they were drinking. I am sorry to hear about Harry tho let's hope it doesn't spread to much.

I will continue to prey for all of you, you have been on my prayer list since I read the first post. God will see you all through this.
