Subject: Mis information in books being posted as gospel

This has been posted to alt.pets.sugargliders recently. Having never read a book on gliders I have only the posters word for this info being there. It is obviously false an the authors need to consider publishing a revision: " "Sugar Gliders as Your New Pet", Wood states.... If you plan to breed sugar gliders, you are advised to obtain a USDA license. A memo issues by the USDA states: "Selling of these pets directly to the public, presumably as pets, does not require a license. In such situations, the seller is comparable to a retail pet store, and (by policy) retail sale of pocket pets does not require a license. Selling pocket pets beyond just maintaining a 'private collection' will require a license, since these animals are not sold primarily as pets." and (claims this book also says you do not need a license to sell) according to Helen O'Reilly in her book Sugar Gliders - A New Owner's Guide to Sugar Gliders continues to this day to be the best and most complete book on the subject." This person obviously thinks that books are 'gospel' and contain "TRUTH" which anyone with a brain knows it not true. Any commnets/questions?
