: You are doing fine. The crabbing will continue until he feels safe in his new surrounding and with you. As hard as it may be try not to open the pouch and "SHOW him to others just yet.

Don't worry. I'm an adult and I have a fair amount of experience with other species. I really don't feel the need to "show him off", and I have forbidden my kids to touch or bother him on pain of severe reprimand.

Keep the people to a bare minimum until bonding has started. Rub the pouch on the outside OFTEN.

Even though he crabs every time?

EVERYTIME you look into the pouch give him a treat.

But he won't eat out of my hand. I tried offering him a drop of honey on my fingertip and he went to bite me. When I held out a little container with honey on it, he bit the container, then licked the honey. What should I do? He won't take a peanut or fruit or anything from my hand.

Talk with him often. You are doing fine, the fact he stays with you shows that you too will get along just fine.

Sometimes he tries to jump off me when I am carrying him, but then he generally jumps right back on. I have had to pull him off a couple things, though, which I did as carefully as possible.

It will take time however, So be patient. Whatever you do don't let him know you are afraid of him. BTW thanks from all of us for researching first. You are doing everything okay...GOOD LUCK

Thanks.
